This Friday, I attended the event Cosmological Elements - Space & Art #2. I was fascinated by the artwork of artist Makoto Azuma.
Frozen Flowers 2023
Azuma Makoto's creative art project 'EXOBIOTANICA'
After the event, I looked up a lot of information about Makoto Azuma and his work. I learned that Makoto Azuma is a contemporary Japanese artist and floral designer known for his innovative work with plants and flowers. One of his artworks that impressed me the most was 'EXOBIOTANICA', which I thought was a fantastic idea. Thanks to technological advances, Makoto Azuma uses high-tech tracking devices, weather balloons, and high-definition cameras to capture a magnificent view of plants at the edge of the Earth's atmosphere. I think it's the constant advancement of technology that helps artists like Makoto Azuma come up with crazy ideas. For me, these plants have a surreal beauty against the backdrop of space, and I think this creative project is a perfect demonstration of the power of combining technology with natural aesthetics.
BOUQUET #5502
The lecture also focused on the art of space and the universe. The universe and space have long been a source of inspiration for artists trying to paint, for example Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh's masterpiece 'The Starry Night' is a typical painting of the night sky. In addition, many science fiction illustrators have used space as a backdrop to create breathtaking views of the cosmos. Not only that, but as time goes on and technology advances, digital art is slowly coming into the public eye and many digital artists are experimenting with the theme of space and the universe. They use computer-generated technology to create stunning views of the universe, such as galaxies, black holes and nebulae.

I like to create works with the starry sky or the universe as an art theme, because cosmic
art inspires curiosity and the desire to explore the unknown, pushing us to push the boundaries of science and technology to explore the mysteries of the universe, and allowing the audience to experience the mystery and magnificence of the universe.
I would 100% recommend this event to my classmates, it was really interesting. I learned a lot of interesting news about space and the universe, and I also enjoyed in a lot of creative artwork.
